Apple confirms ‘iPhone 5′ name via search results

With just 3 hours to go for the highly anticipated media event at 10am PST, there’s still speculation in some circles as to what Apple will be calling their new phone. The New iPhone?  Or simply the iPhone 5 as many would expect? Well it would appear that it will indeed be the latter, this according to Apple’s own search engine. With a search of ‘iPhone 5′ on Apple.com, one of the results returned is:

And a further search also reveals that a new iPod Touch and Nano will be unveiled during the keynote. Here’s the screenshot:

Regardless of what the iPhone 5 will be called, expect loads of goodies to be unleashed during today’s media event.

As with all major product launches, the Apple Online Store is currently down, but expect it to back up during or shortly after the unveiling.
