EA announces Real Racing 3 for iOS

It’s barely been over a week since EA announced the creation of Firemonkeys (a merge between Firemint and IronMonkeys), but the new studio has announced earlier today that Real Racing 3 will be “coming soon” for the iPhone and iPad. The Real Racing series is widely considered the best in the genre on iOS and the upcoming sequel aims to take things up another notch.

For the very first time, RR3 will feature licensed tracks (Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Silverstone) and a lineup of licensed cars from all-new manufacturers (Porsche, Dodge and Audi for example). Not much else has been revealed at this time, though it’s safe to say that we have extremely high hopes for the game. Real Racing 2 continues to burn rubber on my iPad and it’s one of the few iOS games I’ve sinked countless hours into. And if you’ll recall, it was one of the very first games on the iPad 2 that ran in full 1080p when hooked up to your HD TV.

In the meantime, check out the eye candy from the RR3 announcement video below and head over to the game’s Facebook page for the latest info. You can even unlock the exclusive Porsche Feature trailer if you “Like” the page.
