Dead Trigger gets huge update, goes Free on iOS
Dead Trigger, the gorgeous first person zombie shooter released by Madfinger Games a little over a month ago, not only got a rather significant update, but the game has also gone completely free. It was previously available for $0.99, and it would appear that this is a permanent price drop. As pointed out by IGN recently, Madfinger decided to drop Dead Trigger on Android from $0.99 to free due to an “unbelievably high” piracy rate. And while the developer has stated on Facebook that piracy rates are much higher on Android, it looks as though they’ve decided to go the “Free-to-play” route on iOS as well.
I gladly paid the $0.99 for Dead Trigger the moment it came out, and for the most part have enjoyed blasting console-like zombies on my iPad. My main concern with the game is that it felt way too repetitive after a few hours of gameplay – not to mention that upgrading to more powerful weapons took way too long unless you make IAPs.
As for the 1.1.2 update, Madfinger introduces new weapons (chain saw!!), new gadgets, zombies and environments, and a survival arena. Oh yeah, prices of various items have also been decreased, so this should help out those who rather not spend real dough on weapon upgrades.
Now that it’s free, Dead Trigger should at the very least be given a chance, especially if you have a thing for shooting the walking dead to pieces.
