Just in time for the long Memorial Day Weekend, a bunch of (indie) developers have banded together and created the “Because We May” initiative, slashing prices off their titles in an attempt to promote their work.
We believe that developers should have the freedom to price their games how they like, without interference from the online stores that sell the games. Why? Because it allows us to promote our games more freely, as we are doing here! We rely on the ability to promote our games for our livelihood and control over pricing is an important tool for this purpose.
You can buy directly from developers via the site, or browse from online stores for iOS, Mac, Android, Steam and ‘Other’ platforms. In the iOS section alone, there are currently over 170 games featured – meaning you can snag titles like World of Goo, Trainyard, Samurai II: Vengeance (TMA Review), Riptide GP and more for a buck. Even from just a quick glance, it’s evident that a good number of these games are worth adding to your app collection, especially with the price drops. Because We May is slated to last until June 1st, so when you have some time over the next several days, I highly advise you to check out the site and help support the indie dev by picking up games you may have previously missed out on.
