You can play Angry Birds with your fingers or use a mouse on Facebook, but what about with an actual slingshot? mBed, a company that makes microcontrollers and accompanying software, has created a usb slingshot that can connect to a PC or Mac, which in turn can be used to play Angry Birds. Once plugged in, the slingshot is recognized as a usb mouse, and the accelerometer and rubber stretch sensor help translate these motions into mouse movements. Since the project was inspired as a demo to see how easy and inexpensive it is to build your own USB devices, you probably won’t be seeing this cool gizmo in stores anytime soon. But if you’re up to the challenge, you can check out the full instructions on how to build your own on their website. Video demo right after the break.
