Paris, France – Chocolapps, an independent developer of educational apps for children (formerly known as So Ouat), is kicking off their 2012 lineup with The Adventures of Robin Hood for iOS. Released today on the App Store, this engaging interactive tale transports children ages 3 to 10 to Sherwood Forest, where notorious outlaw Robin Hood and his band of merry men steal from the rich so they can give to the poor.
The newest installment in an award-winning series of interactive storybooks, The Adventures of Robin Hood recounts the medieval excitement of Sherwood Forest with colorful, appealing artwork and captivating “pop-up” animations. Kids can explore enhanced interactions and robust learning features with the HD version for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch (USD $3.99). Or, they can simply enjoy the story with the streamlined standard version for iPhone and iPod touch (USD $0.99). Both versions are fully localized into seven languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Dutch and Russian.
Like the company’s other apps, The Adventures of Robin Hood accommodates young readers of all skill levels by providing both on-screen text and audio narration, and its simple touch interface has been specially designed for small fingers. Robin Hood readers can also view a full-screen cartoon video of the story – a brand new feature making its debut with this release. Plus, the HD version includes engaging mini-games set during Robin Hood’s climactic moments, giving kids the chance to find the hooded Robin in a crowd, compete in a high-stakes archery tournament, and storm Prince John’s castle to rescue Maid Marian.
Interactive learning features integrated into the HD version of Robin Hood include touch pronunciation (touch a word to hear it spoken), “explain to me” (a word’s definition and its opposite are given, to provide context for unfamiliar words), “show me” (an illustration displays to represent a word), and “Karaoke reading” (a fun tool that helps children learn to read the story themselves).
New Chocolapps interactive storybooks coming up in 2012 include Snow White, The Little Mermaid and more. To learn more about The Adventures of Robin Hood and Chocolapps’ other educational offerings, visit the company’s website.
