Pocket Budget 1.1 for iOS: Track and Manage Personal Expenses and Income

Prague, Czech Republic – Mapeapps today is pleased to introduce Pocket Budget 1.1 for iOS, an update to their popular Finance app that allows the user to easily improve their cash flow by managing and tracking their personal expenses and income. Pocket Budget features multiple budgets for separate finances, customizable categories, a transaction editor with expense / income tracking, password protection, an interactive graph reporting by categories or trends, and CSV and e-mail export.

On launch in portrait orientation the default, Main window is displayed. On the bottom tab bar are five icon buttons that provide access to the app’s various functions and features: Main, Budgets, Categories, Transactions, and Reports.

The Main screen is divided into four parts: Budget selection, pie chart with expenses summary breakdown per categories, information about the last transaction and overall balance, and two buttons – Income (cash in) and Expense (cash out). Touching the Income button opens a virtual keypad that allows the entry of any cash amount. Once input, that amount appears in a blue New Transaction window, where the user may easily input the date the income is due, the category (salary, other income, or any other new categories the budgeter creates), and an optional text description. Touching the Save button returns the user to the Main screen, where a large window indicates that another transaction has occurred, the details, and the remaining Balance.

Alternatively, the budgeter may touch the red Expense button, which opens the same virtual keypad, allowing the input of any cash amount. Saved, the New Transaction window opens, and the user can input the date of the expense as well as a text description. The Category field offers the following pre-loaded options together with ability to create custom categories: Car, Clothing, Entertainment, Gifts, Groceries, Kids, Medical, Other Expenses, Pets, Rent, Sport, Transport, and Utilities. Saving the Transaction opens the Main window, where the total number of transactions is displayed, the details of the most recent transaction and the resulting Balance.

The Budgets navigation button allows the user to create numerous independent budgets, which do not affect each other, maintaining strictly separate accounts. This can be convenient for husband and wife, business and personal expenses, portfolios, organizations and charity accounting, etc. Selecting the Categories button opens a scrolling list of the 13 different categories under expenses, plus the 2 Categories under Income; and also permits adding or subtracting custom categories. Each category displays the total and current month amounts of all transactions entered for selected budget and newly its monthly limit. Setting of monthly limit, or a new name, for a category is as easy as a click on the category. And the Transactions button brings up a scrolling list of transactions for each month, including editing capabilities, and filters for All transactions or only Income or Expenses.

Finally, the Reports function offers bar and line graphs of the following data: Income by Categories, Expense by Categories, Income Trend, Expense Trend, and Income vs. Expense. Category reports can be filtered by All, Week, Month, or Year, and show at a glance the amount spent in each Category, including each item as a percentage of all expenses or income. Trend reports are over one year, and dollar amounts at graph points may be shown as a Label, On/Off.
