Towcester, United Kingdom – The Brighton Cloud today is pleased to announce their fingerprint scanning app Fingerprint Your Friends. The app designed for the iPhone and iPod touch is used to trick people into believing that their fingerprint can be scanned on these devices.
Unlike the ubiquitous fingerprint protector apps Fingerprint Your Friends does much more than just pretend to recognise a fingerprint to allow access to an iPhone or iPod touch. Data and photographs can be imported directly from the devices contacts database at the touch of a button and these details are then presented as the scan results. The person setting up the trick is able to enter any information they like about the person and the results screen allows them to scroll text into view to reveal additional information that further enhances the prank.
The app takes advantage of the GPS receiver on the iPhone or the Wi-Fi network on the iPod touch to locate the device. This location is then presented as part of the scan results to show where the person being scanned is located on the map. They are fooled into believing that they have been located but in reality it is the devices location that is displayed, they are just standing next to it.
