London, United Kingdom – Glowing Eye Games today is pleased to announce Magic Towers Solitaire 1.16 for iOS, an update to their free, animated solitaire card game featuring a magic towers motif. The game is a fun, tactical version of the classic Tri Peaks solitaire, and tests both skill and luck as players attempt to clear three towers of cards to win a round. The game has been played more than six million times in this iOS edition, with the average user playing five games day. Players follow the rules of solitaire and score points while playing and through Time, Wild Card, Deck Card, and Round Bonuses. Originally released as an on-line card game, it proved so popular with millions of players, that Glowing Eye Games decided to bring it to iPhone and iPad.
The game opens with an enticing animation of the cards being sequentially arranged. Three towers of six cards each are dealt face down, covered by a line of ten cards, face up. The deck of 24 cards appears below with only the first card turned face up. A Wild Card appears at the far right and may be used only once per round to match any card.
Gameplay consists of players touching any face up card in the line or the towers with the face up card from the deck located below. Matches may be either on a card with a value of one above or below the deck card. As cards from the line are moved to the face up deck card they uncover the tower cards, which flip face up when completely uncovered. When no more matches can be made, the player may turn over the next deck card and continue to play. The round ends when all the cards from the line and towers have been brought down, or when no further matches are possible and all deck cards have been exhausted.
There is no time limit to each round, but quick players score Time Bonus points during the first two minutes of play, as indicated by a decrementing Time Bonus counter. When the center six-card tower of cards has been completely removed, it is replaced in a sparkling animation by a fantasy/ medieval castle. And when the towers to the left and right are removed, they are replaced by large towers attached to the castle. The game is supported by unobtrusive ads, which appear throughout gameplay. An ad-free version is available as an in-app purchase.
