Popcap to Drop Price on iOS Games, donate funds to Japan Earthquake relief
Several days after Capcom and SEGA announced that they’ll be donating proceeds of their iOS sales, Popcap Games, who recently opened an office in Tokyo, too will be partnering with Red Cross to donate 100% of their revenue this weekend to the Earthquake and Tsunami relief in Japan.
In an effort to help with the relief efforts in Japan, we are donating all the proceeds from our iPhone/iPad games this weekend (3/19-3/20) to the Red Cross. We hope that you can join us in this effort
As part of this charitable campaign, Popcap will be dropping prices on all their iPhone games to $0.99, while the 2 iPad titles will sell for $1.99 during the next two days. The sale begins March 19 at 12:01 a.m. PDT, so this is a fantastic time to pick up games like Plants vs. Zombies and Peggle, while helping out the relief efforts at the same time.

SEATTLE and DUBLIN, March 18, 2011 – PopCap Games, the worldwide leader in casual games, today announced that it is discounting the prices of the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad adaptations of all of its games including Bejeweled®, Bookworm®, Chuzzle®, Peggle® and Plants vs. Zombies™ for 48 hours to raise funds for earthquake-stricken Japan. Partnering with the Red Cross, PopCap will donate all of its revenues from the sale, which begins Saturday, March 19 at 12:01 a.m. PDT and ends at midnight PDT on Sunday, March 20. The price of each iPhone and iPod touch title is reduced to US99 cents during that time, while the iPad adaptations are reduced to US$1.99. Consumers can purchase the games via the Apple App Store or by going to PopCap.com.
