Vancouver (BC) Canada – Moving Tales Inc., the makers of revolutionary 3D Animated Storybook Apps, have released a major upgrade of their best selling The Pedlar Lady of Gushing Cross. Available immediately for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, the free upgrade includes voice recording, localized French and Spanish, and bug fixes.
“With this upgrade, Moving Tales are once again pushing the envelop of the eBook revolution. With these significant new features, we are very proud to be able to show the Pedlar Lady how it was originally conceived for the iPad and iPhone.” says Moving Tales Founder and President, Matthew Talbot-Kelly. “Now localized in three languages, the user can also change languages on the fly, on a per page basis. The new voice recording feature is fantastic. Not only does it have significent educational merit, is is also great fun – now the App can capture Grandpa or Mum reading their particular version of The Pedlar Lady, to be played back at a later time with accompanying sound effects and animation.”
The first of Moving Tales’ Classic World Tales series, The Pedlar Lady of Gushing Cross is inspired by the age-old tale of a man who becomes rich through a dream. The Pedlar Lady describes the journey of a poor pedlar woman who, guided by the shifting line between the real and the unreal, discovers a surprising and wonderful treasure.
The Pedlar Lady features film-caliber, sophisticated 3D animation and text, original music and evocative filmic sound effects. The App’s dynamic typographic layouts can be animated using the iPad’s accelerometer, incorporate randomly selected alternate perspectives and random sounds to ensure no two viewings are alike, use Cover Flow-like navigation and include compelling, poetic voice-over narratives and text in Spanish, French and English, that can be dynamically changed as the user wishes.
Premiering for the iPad on July 25, 2010, The Pedlar Lady was named “App of the Week” in numerous iTunes stores worldwide, including in the U.S. and Canada, and has been a bestseller the world over.
“The popularity of The Pedlar Lady confirms our belief that there is a hungry audience for Classic World Tales,” said Moving Tales’ founder, Matthew Talbot-Kelly. “These time-tested stories cross all boundaries and are ideal for viewers of all ages and cultures.”
The Pedlar Lady is available for iPad and The Pedlar Lady iPhone Edition for iPhone/iPod users at the App Store for $4.99.
