Duck Duck Moose Wins Three Parents’ Choice Gold Awards for Mobile Apps

Palo Alto, California – Independent children’s app developer Duck Duck Moose wins three Parent’s Choice Gold Awards for their iPhone apps, Wheels on the Bus, Old MacDonald, and Itsy Bitsy Spider. Duck Duck Moose was the only publisher to receive three Gold Awards – the top honors given by Parents’ Choice Foundation – in the Mobile Apps category.

“For toddlers who are eager to learn, try Old MacDonald, Itsy Bitsy Spider, and Wheels on the Bus. The creative team at Duck Duck Moose has created – and delivered – exquisite lessons of cause and effect with a charming and whimsical touch,” writes Parents’ Choice Foundation.

The three Duck Duck Moose apps are interactive musical books, based on the popular children’s songs. Parents’ Choice Foundation describes them as the “21st century version of the classic nursery rhyme.” Musical options include different languages (English, Spanish, French, German, and Italian) and instruments (violin, cello, piano, and even a kazoo). The apps are designed for young children to touch and explore the colorful, interactive illustrations. Children and parents can also record their own voices and versions of the songs.

The Parents’ Choice Awards program is the nation’s oldest nonprofit program created to recognize quality children’s media. The Parents’ Choice Awards program honors the best material for children. The Parents’ Choice Awards committees look for products that entertain and teach with flair, stimulate imagination and inspire creativity. Judges are interested in how a product helps a child grow: socially, intellectually, emotionally, ethically, and physically.
