Pocket Informant 1.3 for iPhone now available

Cedar Park, Texas – Mobile market leader, WebIS Inc. today is pleased to announce a major update to its Calendaring/Task application for the iPhone, Pocket Informant. This release adds event location mapping, a new column-style week view, the ability to email tasks and events, several user interface enhancements and sync improvements.

While other apps focus on either solely calendaring or tasks, Pocket Informant stands out among the productivity apps on the iPhone by merging full-featured task management with robust calendaring in one app. Among the several new features added to version 1.3 is one called “Event Location Mapping”. This feature allows you to plot the location of your events on a map view within the app. This can be done on a per-event basis, or you can plot all events for Today all at once. Additionally, from the map view, users can tap an icon that will take them into the iPhone Google Maps app to plot directions to their event.

WebIS released the iPhone version of their popular application Pocket Informant a little over a year ago. “We now have Pocket Informant on three mobile platforms and we’re thrilled with the response we’ve had from our iPhone customers over this past year” says Alex Kac, CEO. “And between the iPad and iPhone OS 4, we’re very excited about our roadmap ahead of us for the upcoming year.”

We are also excited that in the past year Pocket Informant has been recognized by Apple, MacWorld magazine and others as an essential tool for the iPhone. Recently Apple featured the Pocket Informant icon in their TV advertising, MacWorld picked Pocket Informant as an Essential iPhone application, and combined with our over 90,000 users Pocket Informant is proving itself to be an essential part of mobile professionals today.
