Okay… wait for it, wait for it… Hooray! If you ask me, this is nothing short of miracle, but you CAN have Push for GMail for free! And it works without ANY 3rd party apps on your phone!
Google have finally done it! And what’s more, they don’t just offer you Push for GMail, but for Google Calendar AND your contacts! And setting it up is as easy as one, two, three!
The official list of of features:
- Gmail sync. Get your Gmail pushed directly to your iPhone. Your inbox is always up to date no matter where you are, or what you’re doing.
- Synchronize your contacts. Get your Google contacts quickly and easily to your iPhone. With Sync, you can have access to your address book at anytime and place that you need it.
- Get calendar alerts. Using your iPhone’s native calendar, you can now access multiple Google calendars, and be alerted for upcoming appointments with sound or vibration.
The only downside is that in order to make it work, they require that you add your Google address as a Microsoft Exchange account. And the problem with this is that you can only have one Exchange account on your phone. This probably won’t be a problem for most of you, but for some folks (like me, unfortunately) who also use the iPhone to connect to their work Exchange, this is quite a serious trade-off.

So, I guess there is a God out there who is looking out for his Jesus gadget and its loyal followers.
