Softbank recovers lead from rival, Docomo
Japan’s number 2 telecom company and Japan’s iPhone carrier, Softbank, recovered the lead from rival Docomo. According to Yomiuri, in the competitive summer rush, Docomo, the 3-year undisputed leader, fell to second place. Softbank has now held the lead for two months.
The totals for the four largest carriers in Japan are as follows:
Softbank: 115 100
Docomo: 112 900
KDDI: 77 800
E-Mobile: 61 100
Yomiuri is quick to indicate that the Softbank’s recent initiative sales include the iPhone 3GS and a new digital picture frame called PhotoVision, which displays pictures taken from their mobile phones.
