You can also play “instant” play (at least on the iPhone version) and it cuts out the loading screens and fun facts – those are interesting the first time but get repetitive. When you play the more advanced level, rather than beginning, you find that speed and food rationing actually matter. Beginning is nice to orient yourself to the game, but it did get sort of fun on the harder level – granted I was on a 10 hour flight so anything was entertaining!
